Passive Fire Protection

Passive fire protection, sometimes abbreviated to PFP, is the act of slowing down the spread of fire by containing it within certain areas of the building. At LW Safety, we work with businesses across Wembley, Harrow and Uxbridge as a passive fire protection contractor.

Passive fire protection, using walls, floors and doors, can compartmentalise areas of your building to trap a fire. This usually involves fire stopping methods, whereby gaps or penetrations from previous works have been left behind. Once these are eliminated, a fire will not be able to move as quickly through a building, thereby allowing people to evacuate safely – it also allows the fire brigade time to respond.

With consultants who are members of the Institution of Fire Engineers, you can count on our knowledgeable team for expert advice and guidance. Our structural fire protection services can include:

  • Protection of structural steelwork, boarding, spray and coating solutions
  • Smoke barriers systems
  • Air sealing for critical IT server rooms
  • Integrity testing for IT server rooms
  • Passive fire protection surveys and audits
  • Compartment integrity surveys and audits

Discuss passive fire protection with our professional team today and we’ll help you to put the correct systems in place to safeguard lives in your building. Call us on [ld_default] and speak to us directly or fill out our quick quote form with your details and we’ll get in touch with you promptly.
